Paper submission: instruction for authors

1. Paper preparation guidelines

The paper template and instructions on paper preparation are given below. Please note that the full paper can not exceed six pages in length.

2. IEEE Xplore® - compatible PDF file preparation

The paper should be converted to PDF using the PDF eXpress online tool to ensure an IEEE Xplore® - compatible PDF file.

Please go to the IEEE PDF eXpress site at www.pdf-express.org

Click on the link "New Users - Click Here" and fill in your details.
You will need to enter the Conference ID which is:  upec10x

Click on the "Create New Title" button to start the conversion of your paper into a PDF file, and follow the instruction on the page.

You will receive two emails from UPEC 2010X Author Services:
 (i) the first email to confirm the upload to the IEEE PDF eXpress site
 (ii) the second email will have your paper as PDF file attached

Please note that it will only be possible to upload a PDF version of the full paper in Step 3.


3. Paper uploading instructions

After the preparation of your PDF file as described above, you can proceed with the submission.

  1. Please login to your UPEC2010 account using the following link

  2. Once logged in, all your accepted papers should be listed on a table in the Author Console. To start the upload system wizard, click on Edit on the Camera-Ready|Presentation column available for each paper.
  3. The wizard will help you with verification of paper details, and in the uploading process.

The wizard consists on the following steps:

  1. Welcome, just press Next button,
  2. Title and abstract, please verify the title of the paper and introduce any modification if necessary. Simply type “none” in the abstract form and move to the next step using the Next button,
  3. Authors, please verify authors’ details and primary contact. Introduce any modification if necessary. Then press Next button,
  4. File Upload, select your IEEE Xplore® - compatible PDF file with the Browse button , select the file and click Upload button. To delete an existing file, please click the Delete button in the "Uploaded Files" list. Then press Next button,
  5. Additional question 1 (Required), please introduce in the form the name of the author who will present the paper. Next button,
  6. Additional question 2 (Required), Please copy and paste the IEEE PDF compability confirmation received by e-mail from IEEE PDF eXpress tool. Then press Next button,
  7. Submission Summary and Confirmation, the summary will appear. If any modification is required, simply press Previous button, otherwise confirm and save the details pressing the Finish button,
  8. Optional Confirmation Print, After the system confirms the completion of the submission, press the Print button to open  a print-friendly version of the summary details a new window ready for printing.

Note: Unless you press Finish in the Confirmation step, the changes you've made on the page will not be saved in the system.
